DETAILED ITINERARY FOR 18 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI
Welcome to this 18 days Uganda safari that offers you an opportunity to encounter the best of Uganda safari, lets get into the nature for the best expeience.
Day1: on arrival you will go for a city tour.
On your arrival for your long Uganda safari you will meet our company representative together with your drive and depending on your time either do city tour of Kampala including kasubi tombs. The Uganda museum and the African craft village after transfer to the hotel where you will relax and have dinner and overnight at cassia lodge.
Day2: transfer to jinja via mabira forest.
After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to jinja Uganda’s former industrial town during the colonial times found in east Africa. This will take approximately 2hours. You will see huge sugar cane and tea plantation in lugazi area and stopover at mabira forest for a short forest walk to search for forest bird species, colobus monkeys. Proceed and reach in jinja town where you will visit the source of river Nile and get a chance to see where the mighty river Nile starts it’s journey all the way to Mediterranean Sea. Have launch in jinja town and enjoy a tour historical industrial itanda falls. Dinner and overnight at jinja Nile resort.
Day3: sipi falls tour.
After breakfast, you will go with your packed food to sipi falls for a nature walk, it will take approximately 4hours passing jinja, igongo town, Mbale, sipi region in Kapchorwa district. You will undergo a nature walk to the spectacular sipi falls which has it’s origin from mountain elgon and you will expect see caves , plantation of coffee, matooke and sugar cane along the way. Dinner and overnight at jinja Nile resort.
Day4: transfer to kidepo national park and evening game drive.
After breakfast, you will transfer to kidepo national park which is approximately 5 hour driving. You will be able to see variety of bird species and animals like buffaloes, elephants. Dinner and overnight at apoka lodge.
Day5: game drive and community walk.
After breakfast, your guide will take you for a game drive in the park and this is one of the memoranle and a “can’t wait time”. You will view the ostriches, cheetahs; tortoises, elephants, antelopes, a number of birds, giraffes and many others. You will then head back to the hotel for lunch, relaxations where after you will go in or an evening community walk/tour to the neighboring Karamajong community. Visit the manyyatas- the typical karimajong home stead, interact with the nomads. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight apoka lodge.
Day6: transfer to Murchison falls national park.
After breakfast, you will transfer to the magnificent Murchison falls national park to visit the famous top of the falls where you will enjoy listening the sound of the flowing water. This where water thunders through different rapids from a 7-meter gap to the fall over 40meters gorge and the experience is mesmerizing, drive off to the hotel for late lunch. Unwind and enjoy dinner and a serene night at paraa safari lodge or Murchison lodge
Day7: game drive and boat cruise.
After breakfast, you will go for game drive on the northern banks of the river Nile. The activities takes about 3-5 hours and wild life in the park include elephants, Roth’s child, lions, giraffe, kobs, oribis. Return to the hotel for lunch after prepare for game drive in the afternoon on the Albert Nile. Which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty m fall up will stand a chance to see
Crocodiles, hippos and birds on the river bank like king fisher cormorants, bee carter, shoe bill
Day8: TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST National park
After breakfast, you will start your journey to kibale National park .Which is approximately 7-8hrs you will have lunch in Fortportal town and enjoy the tour of the surrounding, the tooro king’s palace. Proceed to kibale forest .arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at chimpanzee forest guest house.
Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and bigodi swamp walk.
After breakfast, you will go and attend the briefing by the park rangers after which you will set out for chimpanzee tracking with in kibale forest. You will get a lot of information from the guide about the forest and different flora and fauna and you return to the lodge for lunch after you will go for a nature walk in the bigodi swamp in search for bird species after you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at chimpanzee forest guest house.
Day 10: Transfer to Semuliki national park.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Semuliki national park which is approximately 5 hours. You will reach at the park head quarters early where you will register and later check into your lodge and enjoy the lunch, late in the evening you will go for an evening game drive in search for wildlife such as the slender mongoose, serval cats, white tailed mongoose and diminutive genet, return to your lodge a good night at beguma cottage.
Day11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Which is approximately 3-4 hours driving. You will have you lunch at the hotel and in the afternoon go for game drive in the northern crater area where there is a lot of dark holes. You will be able to observe elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, baboons. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth bush lodge.
Day12: Game drive and boat cruise.
After breakfast, you will go for early morning game drive in kasenyi area which is known as the kob mating ground. You will be able to see antelopes, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hyenas, and many others as they graze, play and interact in the nature. This game drive takes 3-5hours. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for bout cruise on kazinga channel. You will be able to see hippopotamus, elephants crocodiles, bufalloes, water birds like the African fish eagle, king fishers and many others; . Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth bush lodge
Day13: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
After breakfast, you will go with all your belongings and set out for early game drive in the ishasha area with the hope to see climbing lions. You will have your lunch in the ishasha sectors and after proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Dinner and overnight nkuringo gorilla camp.
Duration:4-5hours.
Day14: Gorilla tracking.
After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarter for short briefing with your packed food and later go for gorilla tracking this could take 4-8hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. This is the time you have been waiting for as you couldn’t wait to meet these ultimate gorillas. You will be given at least one whole hour with these human closest cousins, as you enjoy their interaction in the nature. This is one the trip highlight. After transfer back to the hotel sit and enjoy the balcony view of the most rewarding, stunning, amazing, fascinating and engaging view of the impenetrable forests. You will then get set for your dinner and overnight at nkuringo gorilla camp.
Day15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast, you will depart to lake bunyonyi which is approximately 2hrs-40minites and it is one of the deepest lake in Africa with a depth of over 900m deep, and it was used by the bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage and after bout cruise return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at arcadia cottage.
Day16: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park.
After breakfast, you will then embark on journey to lake Mburo which is approximately 5hours drive a cross the rolling hills and slopes of Kabale. You will have stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and proceed to lake, Mburo and enter the park with a game drive en-route which will enable you to see animals like zebra, impalas, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mburo safari lodge.
Day 17: Game drive and boat cruise at Lake Mburo.
After breakfast, you will go for game drive in search for impalas, Elands, buffalos, zebras buffaloes, warthogs, beautiful birds and others. You will also have a chance to view the beautiful landscapes. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for boat cruise on Lake Mburo with is over 10 square km in size, and where you will stand a chance to see crocodiles, hippopotamus water birds like African fish eagle, kingfishers, and others.. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Transfer back to Kampala
On this day, you will be welcome to the new, and the last day of this adventure with a morning delicious breakfast, and then head back to Kampala, as you take the flashbacks, for this memorable safari in Uganda. You will drive to Kampala with your lunch en-route, as you also enjoy the beautiful sceneries,
You will have a stopover at the equator for memory photos, stretching and refreshments, as you proceed to Kampala for your flight or accommodation.
