Kibale national park is located in the western part of Uganda in the district of kabarole about 450 kilometers from the capital city Kampala and it can be driven in just about 5-6 hours. Kasese town is located south of the park; Kamwenge town is located east of the park.

Kibale National Park was gazette as a logged forest area  by british in 1932.

In 1942, kibale forest was gazette as forest reserve under the british   control who continuously  cut down trees. In 1993, Kibale forest reserve was formally established to kibale national park In 1994 uganda national park (UNP)took over the responsibility of the park 

Kibale National Park sits on 766 square kilometer (296 square mile of land in western Uganda). The National Park is elevated at 1,100 meters (3,600ft) to 1,600 meters (5,200ft) high above sea

ACTIVITIES IN KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Chimpanzee Trekking. This is one of the main activities in kibale national park and is the  main reason for the conservation  of the area. Kibale national park has move dense population on these humble primates a mounting to more than 1500 primates chimpanzees

Chimpanzee Habituation . This is close to chimpanzee tracking only that it is move expensive  and the travelers get a chance to spend more time with the primate chimpanzee habituation .

Blgodi  wet land sanctuary . This is a jungle swamp which happens to be a project  of the local community  to preserve nature and improve their living through  putting the jungle swamp out as tourist attraction .

Birding in kibale national park . Kibale forest is a big sanctuary  for bird species  harboring over 150 bird species. It requires to start the bird watching at around 7:00 am in the morning . Common bird species that spotted include  white-spotted fluff tail , white-tailed ant-thrush, Black and White shrike-fly catcher, Super sun bird, Yellow billed barbet and many more.

Nocturnal  forest walk . The night forest walk takes place after dinner in kibale forest . you can see the creatures of the night ,such as Bush Babies , portos , at times tree pangolins and other Nocturnal animals including the birds that rule at night in the forest Crate lake tour .Once you are done with a tour in kibale national park ,Crate lakes tour  is also one of the key activities that a traveler would love to engage on

Amabere  Ga Nyina  Mwivu . These are rocks located in cave a few meters. The visit to these rocks include one having to pass by certain amazing water falls  which welcome youThe Nakayima  Witch’s Tree. This is a cultural and traditional worship site  that you can visit on  the way to kibale national park from kampala or from kibala to kampala 

In kibale national park you can find varvet  monkeys , Red tailed monkey , L’Hoest’s monkeys  Blue, Gray- cheeked mangabey monkey , Red colobus , Black and White colobus , Olive Baboon , 70 species of mammals , Forest Elephant ,  Forest Buffaloes ,
