Semuliki Reserve is found in Western side of the Rwenzori on the altitude of 670-760mtrs above sea level, true low land tropical forest in East Africa in East Africa with variety of bird species (441) species of which 216 over 441 are forest birds, 15 primate species living within 6km of Sempaya hot springs and 53 mammals.
The park is dominated by the easternmost extension of the great Ituri forest of the Congo Basin.
DAY 1: DRIVE TO SEMULIKI NP
After early breakfast, we will drive to Semuliki and Fortfortal and have a stopover for lunch at Koikoi cultural centre village Hotel then later proceeded to Semuliki. You will have dinner and overnights at Bumaga cottages
DAY 2: NATURE WALKS THROUGH SEMULIKI JUNGLE
After breakfast, we will head to Sempaya Gate where the walk begin from and it will take place us 2 hours, while having the walk, we will come across unique mammals, primates, birds and tree species. And these include; Mangabeys, Blue Monkeys, De Brazza’s monkey which is rare olive baboon, red-tailed monkey forest buffalos, leopards to mention but a few. Birds will not take much of our attention due to it will be the next activity.
Then later in the afternoon we will visit Sempaya hot springs of which they are two that is the Male and Female hot springs.
We will take an hour to the male hot spring through woodland where grey-checked managements, black and white colours and red-tailed monkeys are regularly seen. Then 30 minutes walk via palm forest from the main road to the inner female hot spring which is characterized by the boiling spring and eggs, banana can be cooked. Such water birds are seen such as; common sand piper, spur-winged lapwing, common squance Heron, white-backed night- Heron, Marsh sand piper and many others. You will have dinner and overnight at Bumaga Cottages
DAY 3: BIRDING KIRUMIA, NTANDI, SEMPAYA AND BUNDIBUGYO OLD ROAD.
After an early breakfast, we will have a great experience of birding of which Semuliki is the better place to watch birds and around 5 endemic Albertine species can be seen in Semuliki only.
Along Bundibugyo Old road, we will see such birds like Leaf-love, Red-billed Dwarf Hornbill, White-headed Barbet (Albic Auda race), Little Bee-eater, Palm-not vulture, Brown-backed scrub-Robin and many others.
While Kirumia, Ntandi and Sempaya trials, birds expected include; Black-crowned night Heron, white-crested Horbbill, piping Hornbill, African-paid Hornbill, Black casqued Dwarf Hornbill, Red-
shouldered cuckoo-shrike, Olive Pigeon, Orange-checked waxbill, simple Greenbul, Yellow- footed, Flycatcher, Dusky-crested, Black-winged Oriole, Hartlaub’s duck, swamp palm Bulbul, Forest Robin, White-thighed Hornbill, Green-failed Bristlebill, Grey-throated Aleth, Blue- breasted Kingfisher, Red-failed, Ant-Thrush, Sooty- Boubou, Blue-throated Roller, Spotted Flycatcher, Valvet- mantled Drongo, Black-billed Turaco to mention but a few. You will have your dinner and overnight at Bumaga Cottages
DAY 4; DRIVE TO KAMPALA
After breakfast, we will drive to Kampala via Fort portal where we will stop for lunch at Koikoi cultural centre village then later another stop will be at Kyamuhanga Tea plantations.
Then drive straight to Kampala city where you will have a stay at Travellers Inn as you wait for next day to fly back to your home country.
BAY 5: DEPARTURE. You will the get up in the morning and get a flight back to your country.
